Lot of memories from seeing that Schwegmann store pic. Used to go there with my grandmother in the 60’s. They had everything. A butcher shop where you could buy a whole pigs head to make hoghead cheese. A full seafood market with big iced bins of red snapper, speckled trout,catfish etc. Any fresh seafood that is caught and eaten here. They had a sporting goods store,barber shop,bank, beauty parlor and beer joint in house. I still have some Pfleuger Limper spoons that a Coonass in Isle de Charles turned me onto. Only place you could buy them was at Schwegmann’s. Great for specks. In a tackle box from same store that my Parrain bought for me. The box is 52 years old now.

Still have a bunch of lures from there as well, they all still catch fish, hell we got our Penn international reels there.

I’ve got some Boone Trout Touts and Shad Rigs . Some Bingo’s and Speck a Go Go s. I enjoy pulling them out sometimes when the fishing is slow. Seems to turn them on. The young fellows are WTF are you fishing with ?
