I have a Whirlpool Gold Quiet Wash Dishwaher.

In the bottom of the tub last night, I noticed a little round plastic thingy (that's the non-technical term) laying there. Upon researching it, it is the Dishwasher Upper Spray Arm Spinner.

Do I need it? If so, is it something I can replace?

Thanks in advance.

Yes and yes, if you want your top rack stuff to get clean.

It's possible that something big in the top rack knocked it out of place. I believe that part just snaps in. If it's not damaged, try snapping it back in place.

It looks as if the spinner itself is in good shape, but there's a clip or cap or something that it needs to hold it in place. Which probably went down the drain of the dishwasher. Entire new thing is $20 bucks, when all I need is a little plastic cap that comes with it.
