Wafb wants Directv to pay more, Directv doesn't want to. Wafb shouldn't charge for s signal that's free over the air. Directv is bringing their programming and commercials into homes and paying for the privledge when the signal is free with an antenna.

Wafb's antenna is near LSU as are most others. I live in the Jones Creek area and I've tried 4 or 5 different antennas including one with a 50 mile range. Still no channel 9.

It's Raycom Media who owns wafb and many other stations. They all went dark last time they couldn't agree.

But are you okay with directv charging subscribers more for over the air networks?

That's the issue. Cable and satellite companies profit from including them in their programming. Over the air networks want a cut of those profits.

Raycom has played hardball with directv, dish and cox in recent years.
