Everyone says use them when gutting a home. Suppose you have no power?

Generator?
Or neighbors with an extension cord?

If you can get a dehumidifier do it. Run that bitch on a generator if you have to.
We've had 4 of them running at my parents house since Tuesday. The first day we were probably emptying out a gallon every hour or two. Just talked to my dad and he said he was emptying them. Day 3 and they're still pulling out moisture.
It's amazing how much water those things will remove from a house.
