Just need to get something off my chest. I myself am a recovering alcoholic. I sought help several years ago and I'm back to a functioning life thanks to many people along my journey. I woke up to find that one of my friends in recovery let the addiction take him. I lived in a sober house after my treatment which consisted of eight men. There is myself and one other friend still alive today. Now granted these people where doing hard core drugs and I just knew I had a drinking problem and needed to straighten out my life. I was never in danger of going down that dark path. Point to the story if you know someone battling this try to get them some help and talk to them. To many young people are dieing. I know many of you will say that's the choice they made and obviously you've never been in that situation or had someone close to that has dealt with someone that has. I'm just bummed out, I'm anxious Everytime I pick up a paper and scroll through the obits. I've been to more funerals in the past few years over this and it makes me sick. Thanks for letting me vent.

9 times out of 10 they do not want help. It's either death or incarceration waiting for them. Even if they comprehend that there are only two possible outcomes the vast majority still choose to chase the high.
