It's not even a secret anymore and they still do it. Usually I change my own, but I had a last minute trip coming up and decided to let one of the quick change places do it. What a racket these guys have going on. They did change the oil filter though with one probably made in Bangladesh.

My ex wife took my mustang in once for an oil change at the steakership (had coupon book for free oil changes)
They told her I needed a new serpentine belt so she said ok
I was pissed I knew the belt was fine I regularly check all my belts and hoses.
Went back up to the dealership and talked to them and of course they denied the belt was good and that it had to be replaced.
Never went back there again and a few years later that dealership closed down and later became a Toyota dealership
