The strangest thing to me is how he was checking out all of them individually to see if it was the right one. Like people who squeeze all of the tomatoes first before finding that perfect tomato.

I've held a few cobras that weren't defanged. And I held them freely, not behind the head.*
Cobras aren't like any other snake on the planet. They are more like cats. They have personalities.

The cobra handlers are probably immune to cobra venom. Immunity would not be out of the question especially if they handled "just cobras". Defanging all the snakes in that pit would be a major job. All poisonous snakes replace their fangs periodically so they would have to check all the snakes every day to see if new fangs were in place. These guys work the cobras every day. They know what they can get away with...
Their was a gentleman in South Florida named Bill Hasst that experimented with injecting himself with cobra venom. LINK

Before reading these snakes were defanged, I was thinking there's no way you could get in a small space like that with a black mamba or just a few of them.
They are much more aggressive and would basically come after this fool.

A lot of the time for those shows in India they de-fang the snakes. It's kind of cruel.

They're interesting creatures. I think learning about the different behaviours and adaptations of just about all animals is interesting. Learning about the world is cool. Some people are just really closed minded and weak.
I don't think I would ever actually own a venomous snake because it's too much of a commitment, but I do like viewing them and learning about them.
