Once the center of rice production in the US should provide lots of land where it fits quite well.

Our spring fed creeks stay in the 50s and 60s. I am sure it makes them grow slower but there are some whoppers in there. You can catch a mess of them in a pretty small hole too. They look like an entirely different species from the mud bugs in the swamps.
