They do but the same thing happened to me recently at the Royal Sonesta. I had a balcony on bourbon and late at night someone used a key to enter the room. I assume a employee gave their friend a key. Luckily we were still awake and they took off when they saw someone was in the room. Complained to the staff and they gave zero fricks. I don’t have any desire to return to New Orleans anytime soon.

That’s a nice hotel, too. I stayed there recently and i always use the bar/latch thing at the top of the door, but the balcony door didn’t look very secure. That and also just below our balcony, about 5 homeless guys were sleeping and you could hear them arguing and carrying on all night.
