I think I'd have a shot on my feet.
I trained with bjj for a few years, and the guys who are flexible and good at it eat my lunch.
10% knockout
90% broken arm

i respect these fighters. i like UFC.
but some of yall give these guys way too much credit for being badasses.
Do you train? Bar fights are certainly a different animal but once you step into the ring an untrained bar fighter is in big trouble.

I do admit to trolling awhile.
I could not hang with them now. I am in terrible condition. I am strong but not flexible or worry about cardio.
However, in college when I was in shape, stronger and a lot more flexible (due to actually training in bjj and judo), I could at least last 5 minutes with a flyweight. We did work on striking.

no i dont train to fight. i'm too old and have too good of a job to be out fighting. but in my younger days i trained as a boxer and some wrestling, never BJJ.
and i know there are some badasses that train MMA and fight in the UFC. but i'm saying that your average MMA guy isnt fricking he-man and they can get their arse kicked just as quickly as most regular folks; especially a 125 guy taking on someone way bigger than him.
plus, it's a pretty stupid question to ask if ordinary people can compete against a trained fighter, and not expect that the trained person is going to have an advantage. A guy who has been training for a particular event is always going to have an advantage. it's like asking people if they think they could keep up with Lance Armstrong in a 5 mile bike race.

I agree with nearly everything you have written. I do believe inside a cage or a ring a professional champion, at any weightclass, is damn near a He-Man vs a regular untrained Joe. In a bar fight anything can happen so I am not bringing that into the picture.
