Slab or raised house. Will always cost more for a slab. You will need pilings driven into the ground at 30-60 feet depending on where you live (maybe don't need them at all if not local)
A slab poured and then the framing work, new roof, interior work, electrical and what have you.
I would say low end $12k(raised home) to higher end $40k.

Not necessarily. One of the easy addition remodels is to add a second floor over an existing garage.
