Corona virsus-or any virus and online classes in the future

I guess we can see the future of college and schools. IF they find any success of online classes, you should expect to see many people clamor for schools to go to online classes as much as possible. There several plus/minus ideas with it. Imagine the money they can save on infrastructure of outdated buildings, savings in several areas, cheating or not actually attending classes but expecting a degree, especially those who have went to college and go the degree in front of a professor who will feel that the new degrees will be of less value. I can see people arguing on both sides. I know this will come up as people will find they don't need to leave their house for anything now days. Class at home, talk of phone at home, order food from home and delivered, and careers that work from home. Maybe a shift is happening before our very eyes faster than what we have seen in the past 10 years? Just food for thought. I'm not advocating for either direction.

They were already moving towards this anyways, more convenient and cost effective

Universities will be a big loser in all of this. Online classes are going to show how cheap most college classes should be. One teacher should be able to teach far more people.

I could’ve done 90% of my undergrad online. Going to class to listen to a professor read off a PowerPoint was a waste of everyone’s time.

LSU's general online offerings for anything other than ODL is pretty putrid

I took a proctored online test last semester. I had to put my driver's license in front of the laptop camera, and their software used facial recognition to verify that the correct person was taking the test.
Also had to pan the laptop camera around the room so the person monitoring could verify that I had no cheating materials laying around.
Helpful tip: Attach a clipboard to the lid of the laptop, with the cheat sheet on it, so it extends over the top of the laptop screen and camera.

I already understand they have been moving to this for years, the whole world knows that fact. I mean you can get a Tulane degree much cheaper now..... What I'm saying is how any sickness out there now might make it happen faster. And also undermine the college degrees of old. I can tell you most people who attended college classes in person feel like online classes are not the same degree of difficulty.
