The Passenger, set in NOLA in the 1980s, is going to be of interest to many readers on this board.

I cannot wait for this book and how Mr. McCarthy incorporates big easy culture into it. The man was able to write masterpieces set in the west (blood meridian, border trilogy) and the Appalachian regions (Suttree), so I have immense faith that New Orleans culture will be outstandingly intertwined into what should be yet another remarkable work from a truly gifted writer.

Are you sure it's coming out next year? I've heard that he's been working on this for a few years now.

The dude that owns the book store at the local mall told that to me today when I was in there. I guess he's a decent source.
