actually this is just now picking up traction. it was overshadowed by a guy getting his spine fricked while in police custody.

I've seen the video all over social media.
But in general does this surprise anyone? When a female usually goes missing. We only give a shite if it's a white female from a middle class family. Otherwise the story doesn't get air time.

Not to defend the cop but that article is slanted as shite. The suspect responded to the officer and it's confirmed in the documents released by the court.
This article implies that the suspect never heard the officer, which is completely inaccurate.
Completely unjustified shooting, but that website represents everything I hate about media these days. They only tell the parts of the story they like. Pathetic.
he had his earphones in. it's clear as day in the video. he says "nah fool" to the cop likely with no idea what the cop was saying.
it's pathetic as frick that the state of our police more or less dictate that minorities are best off just laying on the ground with their hands behind their backs then praying they dont get beat to death

The fact that the cops had their guns drawn should have sent a strong enough message.

yeah, it does. the cop should be in jail and the guy should still be alive.

From the earlier thread on this.
Cops get a report of someone (or someone in a group) flashing a gun.
Cops pull up to the scene and see three people matching the description (clue #1)
Dude is walking to the truck, sees cops, immediately does a 180, and walks sketchily away (clue #2)
Dude is obvious aware of the police, as he just saw them pull up, and doesn't pay attention to the police orders. He abandons his friends and shuffles away while cops scream at him to stop (clue #3)
Dude finally turns and, instead of stopping and putting his hands up at the sight of guns pointed at him, he grabs his waistband and fiddles around as if to pull out a gun (clue #4)
When the cops are already on high alert due to reports of a gun being flashed around and you factor in the clues above, it's not hard to see how this happened.
It sucks and I feel for all parties involved, but the situation could have just as easily been worse as it could have been avoided

So hard to get justice as a white man. Cops always shoot first at whitey.

He probably should have shown his hands, pretty simple stuff.

I have empathy for the families. Glad the cop had a camera on. This guy saw the cops. This guy walked away. This guy turned and saw guns drawn. Instead of throwing his hands in the air, this guy ruffles thru his pants. Officer had right to feel threatened.

Especially when responding to a 911 of three guys matching the descriptions of someone brandishing a gun, and one of the suspects acts the way dude did

Why is this likely? Simply having earphones in doesn't mean it's likely he didn't hear the officers. Making it more likely he understood was the fact that he responded to the officers. Why was he responding in that way if he didn't hear them?
