I admire Gemistus Pletho.

Ok wow
Please tell me you are either a philosopher, or do you call yourself an intellectual?

I'm not a philosopher. I generally would not refer to myself as an intellectual. Why?

I know I’ll get shite for this, but I’m more concerned they’re praying in Congress. Without reading the thread, I have a hard time believing this is real.

But occasionally you would, right?
Nvm that, I just want your opinion of people who actually believe and abide by the teachings in the Bible (specifically the New Testament).

Not in particular.

Worse yet, is he’s an ordained Methodist minister. MAN is his flock in trouble with this man at the helm.
The Methodists have been in trouble for a LONG time.

I guess I would view them as I would any other arbitrary group of people.

So the faith that Christians have is arbitrary?
Why are you being vague here, I know you have your opinions of Christians. Feel free to tell them.

I'm not a believer in the Christian faith. I appreciate what Christianity has provided to Western Civilization, although it has floundered recently. I believe it has good and bad characteristics, as most human endeavors do.

The Christian faith hasn’t failed, human nature is to crave darkness.
It’s not a human characteristic though.

Like Jesus, I think we SHOULD be talking religion and politics, not shying away from it.
And he said to them, “Go onto tigerdroppings.com and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe, make sure to go on a pointless argument with them and waste your entire morning. -Mark 16: 15-16

Ridiculously ambiguous entity prayer ends with “Amen” and “A-woman”

Just seems bizarre to me, if not a little out of place. I don’t find it upsetting in the least, but it is skirting that church and state line. I didn’t know this was a thing so I am admitting my ignorance.
You get some politicians fear baiting immigration issues with the shariah law rhetoric, yet we pray in congress. Seems... contradictory I guess.

We should all be glad that religion is not in the schools. Imagine the mess.
Yeah! Imagine our kids being able to not be murdered in the womb, and then being taught humility, respect for authority, submission, faith, peace, giving, kindness, service, accountability, consequence, and self-respect instead of self-worship, greed, violence, pride, victimization, loathing, unaccountability, “social justice”, irresponsibility, immaturity, and low or no standards of behavior or consequences for ones actions.
What a travesty it would be!!!! You know, we used to have all the good, wholesome stuff taught in our public schools... but then came liberalism, feminism, socialism, and identity politics. Then when they pulled prayer out, the bottom fell out of our schools as well. That’s a FACT.
