Company sponsored 3rd party counseling and advice call centers

Would you trust the advertised confidentiality in them? Like whatever you'd open up to the counselors on the other end of the line would not make it back to your employer?
I'm extremely skeptical so I've never used them. Really haven't had use for them, thankfully.

They are independent and don’t share information. People are always skeptical but they are confidential and independent.

I work in BH and we do some EAP. Your sessions are covered by HIPAA.
