Do they have a central place where there's a ton of bars and restaurants equivalent to french quarter or Austins 6th street?

I think 16th street is sort of like that for Denver. There are more corporate restaurants in that area, but if you cross the train tracks there are some good local restaurants/breweries.

I think the Lower Highlands (LoHi) area is good and has a bit more of a mature crowd than 16th Street.
Great Divide Brewery Co. is a must if you are into that sort of thing.

Although most tourists end up on the 16th Street Mall, the locals tend to avoid it like the plague. There are a few diamonds in the rough (LINK but I would definitely recommend checking out some of the other hoods. Baker and RiNo are my personal favorites, although the Highlands and Capitol Hill are pretty cool too. There are a ton of cool bars, breweries, things to check out in town...if you let me know a little bit more about what you are looking for (e.g. dive bars, more of a hipster scene, cheap but tasty eats, etc.) I can give you more specific recommendations.

Forest Room 5 is the weirdest bar that I've ever been to. Was an interesting time. We also took a trip out to Vail, but you probably have the outdoor stuff covered with Breckenridge.
