Honestly, how any hostage is returned is irrelevant, they're home. To your point though, whether it was a reporting error or intentional misinfo is exactly why all of MSM is untrustworthy. The pressure of being the first to report, for ratings, has diluted their integrity. They are fine being wrong, receiving the "clicks" and "views", then drop another article to double down with the same goal. All the while, not making mention of their mistake. Every contradiction is posted/published as fact, no matter if their previous "fact" was proven wrong.

Some writers on CNN go with the "Gaza genocide" angle. Some of them don't go with that angle because they realize it'll discourage some "woke" voters from voting for Biden.
