CM Punk Does Screen Test For New FS1 Studio Show "WWE Backstage"

The Backstage show is a Fox production and not WWE, but it's unclear who made the reach out to the 40-year-old Punk (real name Phil Brooks) to come in for the test. Formally announced by WWE earlier this week, Backstage kicks off on FS1 on Tuesday, November 4th and will be similar to other panel discussion shows under the Fox Sports banner. Young and Booker T have been confirmed thus far as co-hosts.

One acts crazy with a guy who isn't her husband and the other is admittedly crazy with her husband.
I think this may ultimately come down to his comfort with FOX (after doing some UFC stuff for them) and if the money makes getting on a plane from ORD to LAX weekly is worth it. Watching this play out with him not doing any AI or AEW stuff make a lot of sense. If they get him in the studio you can bet your arse that he makes an appearance at Survivor Series (too bad RR isn't in Chicago as the place would go apeshit when his music hit at 29.)
