CFPB accused lender of “redlining” violations based on political speech

“Overall, this case is notable in that it could set a precedent for other creditors and lenders in terms of where and how they choose to advertise.
Townstone’s counsel alleges that the case “will have chilling effects on free speech for those in the financial services industry” leading up to the November presidential election. “
This is a disturbing case the government has brought with enormous ramifications for free speech. Automobile dealer mentions Winn-Dixie on the radio and that would be considered discriminatory. Bank employee mentions support for the police and that’s discriminatory.
Amazing the major news outlets have ignored this case.
