Car Title Transfer Question

I don't know whether this was the right board or not so if not, please move it.
I took my dad's car when I moved to Texas from Georgia. We're trying to do a title transfer to my name so that I can get it registered here in Texas. The gift/donor transfer rules for vehicles that are already titled in Texas to be transferred within Texas are clear. What's not clear are the rules for donating/gifting from state to state.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

donate / gift it in Texas. Get a new Texas title and registration. Register it in Georgia when you get to Georgia. Save yourself a lot of time and effort.

You have to do everything in the state the car was originally titled to. I'm going through the same shite.

Might be easier to draft a bill of sale for $1 or something? May be easier to find the necessary information if it involves a sale instead of a gift.

So I have to get the car titled to my name in Georgia and then do a title transfer between states?

Your dad will have to get a vehicle donor form, sign off on it and mail it to you. You'll also sign off on it. You'll mail it back and he'll then take it to the Georgia DMV to get it all transferred to your name.
Good possibility you'll have to get both of your signatures notarized.
