Usually you have to replace sensor. I think the ones in my truck were like $45 each.

Overfill them one at a time and see if the sensor goes out. If it does on tire #3, then chances are that's the culprit.

If that works, be sure to get them back to spec.

Depends on what kind of TPMS you have. If you have one that is attached to the valve stem then it runs on battery. If your tires are old enough to dry rot then it's probably your battery.

If it's indirect (like Honda's ABS sensor system) then dry rotted tires don't matter as long as they hold air.

Turns out no dry rot but the left rear sensor was bad. Replaced it. You guys were right.

The unreasonable cost of replacement comes because they have to break the tire down to do it. If your tires are dry rotted they will have to break the tires down to replace anyway.

ETA: just reading the rest of the thread…glad you got it taken care of.
