I'm taking differential equations and linear algebra this semester at LSU and I was hoping one of you might have a good person to refer me to? :)

Edit: I know, I'm sure a lot of it's easy. I just have trouble understanding my professor. I'm not worried about it being too difficult, I just need someone to show me how it's done haha

How about 'Mathnasium?' I saw a billboard for it.

You really shouldn't need one...that class is really straightforward. Just work a ton of problems and utilize your calculator when checking your work!

But if you need a tutor for anything engineering related, Jai is your man.

I got a C in that class but I really wish I would have done better. I don't have a very good grasp on differential equations and I wish I would have tried harder.

Who do you have? I took it over summer school and had Michael Tom for half of the class and Davidson for the other half.

Davidson was awesome

Michael Tom was easy, but he jut transcribed every word from the book onto the chalkboard and couldn't really answer any questions.

I have Ameziane Harhad, and I feel the same way- he just puts stuff on the chalkboard without explaining why, almost.

It could be worse, you could have Blaise Bourdin. Dude is a massive piece of shite.

The guy you're talking about is really not a bad teacher at all. Almost any topic in that class you are struggling with, you can find videos on youtube that explain it clearly. Khan academy is the best place to start.

Yeah, that's what Michael Tom did. I would literally follow along line by line in the book. He wrote every word in terrible handwriting!

In all honesty, if you utilize the book and do some googling (YouTube can be immensely helpful) you can probably skip the tutor route.

I used Kahn Academy a little, but for math-related stuff I found PatrickJMT YouTube channel to be REALLY good for a lot of my classes.

That is the only class I've dropped at LSU. It's mostly due to Borris Reuben though. He had no set grading scale. He said "I just look at all your work at end of semester and give grade." He graded me ridiculously tough on the midterm and gave me a 45. I dropped and took it the next semester with Paul Britt and made a high A. Britt is a good teacher, and if you can get his old exams, you'll be set.
