It appears now though that with this exchange's failure, it is dragging overall bc value down.

yea from $800ish to $500-$600ish. pretty shitty, but not as bad as I thought since mt gox was pretty damn big.

If you don't want your audience to be misinformed, you should teach them. At least I answered him.

I hope everyday to wake up to the failure of this system, only because I read on here people being so damn sure of themselves that this isnt a BS "currency"... I'd love for them to be wrong

So how does one get Bitcoins? I assume you need to part with some form of recognized currency such as the dollar

You can "mine" them as well.

But yes, you need to take cash and buy bitcoins. Then, you can use your bitcoins on gyft.com to purchase amazon gift cards, then go to amazon and spend said gift card. Makes perfect sense to me.

you can buy them from exchanges. I use coinbase because it's US based and works with several merchants who use bitcoin for purchases.

you can also mine them, but that's more technical and involved than just buying them.

Is paypal a currency? Seems similar to me, but I could be way off.

And I am pretty sure, companies that accept them, convert them to cash when the transaction is completed. Makes sense for all businesses to accept them.

nothing. I'm not saying you should use btc over cash or credit cards. I'm not telling anyone what to use or how to use their money.

haven't read the thread but heard a sound byte that 3 quarters of a million dollars worth of bitcoin came up missing?

is the beginning of the end? if bitcoin survives this, it might be around to stay?

i haven't looked. what is it trading at today?

And you still refuse to answer technical questions about bitcoin while continually demeaning my knowledge of it. Why is that?
