Moving to Alaska?

Houses are cheap in California if you move to an inland shithole, which is basically the entire state of Texas.

I'm curious on how you evaluate "shithole". Is it "shithole" simply for being inland? Away from nice ocean and mountains?

No regard to education, prosperity, safety, economy...just geography?

I'd rather continue living where I do than even entertain moving to CA. Obviously different strokes for different folks, but you couldn't pay me to live by the beach only to rust my truck up or be surrounded by a concrete jungle.

Sounds like a liberal Utopia.

What could go wrong?

Why California continues to lead the country. It's an innovation leader.

quote:

LOS ANGELES — Cars with no steering wheel, no pedals and nobody at all inside could be driving themselves on California roads by the end of the year, under proposed state rules that would give a powerful boost to the fast-developing technology. For the past several years, tech companies and automakers have been testing self-driving cars on the open road in California. But regulators insisted those vehicles have steering wheels, foot controls and human backup drivers who could take over in an emergency. On Friday, the state Department of Motor Vehicles proposed regulations that would open the way for truly driverless cars. Under the rules, road-testing of such vehicles could begin by the end of 2017, and a limited number could become available to customers as early as 2018

Because it's some of the most gorgeous scenery in the U.S. there?

To many....having that so close by is a huge appeal.

Florida has tons of coastal land without the high taxes of cali and even better in Miami there's literally under 10 days a year if that of cold weather. Also while the rest of the US freezes every october-feb, miami is at its high season where the weather is perfect. Im biased to miami but I dont see the appeal of LA vs Miami when taxes are factored in

I love enjoying my coffee on the front porch of my cardboard box just watching the sun rise.

-racial diversity..,being an African American lamp stack programmer by trade I wasn't black enough for the "where my trap n!gg@$" black women and too black for the "you are dating what$@! Take your black arse back to Africa" racist white pricks of the south. Being around people who don't give a shite about your skin color means something and worth the price of admission

I can afford to live in LA but I'd prefer the lower taxes of florida, the lack on 24/7 traffic on the highways, and oceans I can actually swim in. The pacific is always freezing cold. Miami is just as cool and without the significant tax consequences of LA,San Fran, etc

Threads like this make me realize how much people's entire worldview is based on stereotypes.

I believe this, but I'd have to make a shite TON to the point where seeing how much I'm paying in state taxes wouldn't make me shake my head.

I guess the other reasons in your post make that money worth it though.

Lol the last time I was at LAX a black woman accused me of stealing 'black culture' because I was wearing J's.

I have no clue where she was from, but it made me literally lol at how stupid people just everywhere.
