I have this one LINK
It's about 3 years old and no mechanical issues.
Cons: I hate that the machine determines the water level but I work around that for most clothes. I choose the bulky cycle and the machine will fill completely with water. I wash our everyday clothes this way. They don't come out as wrinkled and it does a better job of removing stains/dirt. Towels or small/heavy bulky items will get off balance and it screws up the timing of the wash cycle so I don't choose bulky for those.
I wish I could either select how long items soak or turn it off and let the clothes soak. If you turn it off too long the water will drain. If something needs to soak longer I reset the soak option after it agitates for a few minutes.
Otherwise I'm very happy with it. My brother and SIL have had their LG washer 3-4 years longer than I have and I know they are very happy with it. No problems.
I bought my dryer a couple of months before the washer and while they technically match the dryer is smaller. I wish I had the larger dryer.
OP:
My mother in law bought a GE only to find out there was no real hot water option. She returned it and got a Speed Queen and is very happy with it.

We're probably going to go with a Speed Queen top load. Not fancy but they're supposed to last 20 years.
better hurry. I heard they are fixing to stop production of the manual switch models this year.
You know someone at Stanton's don't you?
We just bought this unit from there and was told the same thing. Wife loves this machine!!

I hear Samsung top loaders are smashingly good washers.
