For her budget, you could easily get a certified pre owned 2012-2013 fully loaded Navigator. One thing I really liked and didn't know about was that the third row is power folding, unlike GM unless they've recently changed them.

you could get a very nice 4runner for 40k. I have not looked at tahoes this yr but i would think 30k would not buy much of a tahoe even used. I have seen tahoes reach 50k+
God damn. My household makes good money and I just got a used Hyundai Sante Fe last month. I can't imagine paying that much for a car. What does a monthly payment come out to on that, assuming non-OT baller paying cash.

The new ones are power folding.

Checking the online calculator, around $700 a month at 72 months at 2.9%.

Unless you plan on towing more than 5k pounds, I can see no reason whatsoever to go with a Tahoe. Wife has a Enclave, we absolutely love it.
BTW, we bought ours in Opelousas. We went there because they had the only one that had the setup we wanted. Flip down TV, rear view camera in mirror, and towing package. It was the best sales experience I've ever heard. Great price, no haggling, 0% interest. Worth a look to see what they have in stock. (Can't think of any other reason to go to Opelousas).

That wasn't for a specific vehicle, but for a 40k vehicle (45ish if you add in tax title and license). I don't think these online calculators are that accurate though.

I say they aren't accurate but all three I've used so far are nearly identical (between $700-$740 a month).

I have owned both from my stand point will never own another crossover again ever. Front wheel suv can't tow anything. My wife loves it i hate it. The gas mileage isn't going to be much different from the tahoe. I tried to tell my wife this before she insisted that what we buy.

I used to be a Tahoe/Yukon guy until a few weeks ago and I rode in my buddies Navigator. My problem with full size suvs has always been the ride, and in my opinion the Ford expedition was one of the worst with the Tahoe being a lot better ride. Then riding in that Navigator makes them both crap as far as ride and cabin noise goes. I'm sold when I start looking for an suv in a few months.
