I landed on a pop/bro country station on my way in to work and decided to listen for a bit. I found the music AND lyrics sickening. It was like poorly done rap with a 'southern' accent. Who invented this genre?

Do you find it embarrassing?

Are there people out there who actually like it?

Horrible and unlistenable just like most country music.

If David Allen Coe were just starting up and in his prime today, he would have said:

"My friend thought he had written the perfect country and bro -neck song.. but he didn't say anything at all, about tight blue jeans, dirt roads, big green tractors, or cowboy hats, or getting drunk. "

Yes it is awful but like someone once told me about rap when I mentioned how much it sucked, 'they didn't make it for you.'

It's catchy and easy to identify with, who doesn't like big trucks and cold beer?

I agree, but it still worries me for the younger folks who are in their target demographic.

The Florida Georgia line bar in Nashville is pretty loaded with young hot women, though

There's your tradeoff for the single men

I'm sure the music you listen to is just so deep & intelligent

The lyrics certainly don't contain "chew tobacco, chew tobacco, chew tobacco, spit".
