That bridge is a traffic sump. I use the old bridge. Never a delay

In 2011 they opened the Saint Francisville bridge that cost $409 million and carries 3,400 vehicles a day. It is 20 miles north of Baton Rouge.
I'm still baffled about this one.

to think they are building a new bridge between shreveport and bossier. And br is still 40 years behind the times. In 2011 they opened the Saint Francisville bridge that cost $409 million and carries 3,400 vehicles a day. It is 20 miles north of Baton Rouge. The new I-10 bridge in BR carries 108,658 vehicles a day in 2014. It has 4 major roads feeding into it: 1. Eastbound I-10 2. Westbound I-10 3. Westbound I-12 4 Southbound I-110 Westbound I-10 at the bridge is the only place in the country where any Interstate narrows to one lane! This creates a huge bottleneck with any large volume of traffic. Was this information not available to the DOT when they planned a new bridge and placed it in Saint Francisville? After this brilliant decision, do you think the feds will give Louisiana another half billion dollars to build another bridge in Baton Rouge anytime soon?
The Audubon bridge was built with 100% state money, the TIMED program paid for it. it is almost 100% certain the bridge and the new alignment of HWY 10 was built on some legislature's land. Why else would I be built in the exact location it is? Hell a bridge near the Plaquemine ferry crossing would help out. but close an exit that may have 100 cars per day to eliminate a bottleneck....racist.
