To whomever was asking....my public rankings by layout alone:
1. Bluffs
2. Santa Maria
3. Island
4. Copper
5. Pelican

Rankings by enjoyability...speed condition layout
1. Island
2. Bluffs
3. Beaver
4. Santa
5. Pelican

Damn I actually just got a tee time at pelican. My birthday was this week so they are giving me a free round, but if it's that bad I might just get 9 at my club before I leave.

There is nothing wrong with Pelican. I'm not a fan of the layout but it's always in pretty good shape and worth playing. Just far out for me (LSU area).

Bluffs - Great layout, pretty lightly played, far away, tough course

Santa Maria - Great layout, heavy play, slow players who don't give a frick generally, good practice area but beat up range

Island - Good layout, gets a lot of play but good condition, far for some

Copper - ok to good layout, conditions ok usually, light play usually, 6-6-6 layout is sometimes very very slow

Pelican - good conditions, medium levels of play, ok to good layout, far out

Beave - good condition, great range, lightly played, easy course

I should say we pretty much quit 6 months or so ago due to frustration with slow play at SM. I'm just now getting back to wanting to play now.
