Booking AI in Playa del Carmen

Looking to take an anniversary trip with my wife in October. The room we were looking is up about $150/night from where it was last week. Anyone monitor these type prices? Are they similar to airfare in that weekends and Mondays are usually the highest?

I didn't know Playa del Carmen was a hotbed for Artificial Intelligence. Do they have automated bean pickers or something? My curiosity is piqued.

So, opt for the refundable rate? Or get some 3rd party insurance? This is a relatively inexpensive trip (4 nights), $2500 or so.

You can get third party trip insurance pretty cheap(like less than $100). With it technically being during hurricane season...you just never know what will happen. My peace of mind is easily worth $100.
Also....it's Mexico....your health insurance will not likely cover you if you get injured and need to seek medical care. Those plans usually cover that and will cover expenses if you seriously hurt yourself and need to be flown back to the states(who really wants to stay in a Mexican hospital??).
