Body found near Marksville in October 2023 identified; foul play verified

AVOYELLES PARISH, La. (KALB) - The Avoyelles Parish Sheriff’s Office has provided an update on a body that was found in the Blue Town Community, north of Marksville, back on October 22, 2023.
The body of a female had been located in a wooded area near a field and was sent for an autopsy. It was determined that the manner of death was a homicide.
The body was further analyzed by the FACES Lab in Baton Rouge. The Louisiana State Police Crime Lab also analyzed DNA taken from the body. The victim was positively identified as Ashley Beauclair, 38, of Marksville.
Sheriff David Dauzat with APSO is asking for help in this investigation. If you have any information, you are asked to contact APSO at 318-619-3980 or 318-253-4000.

Obviously, not a lot of info on this. It is interesting that it took 4 months to identify her. Is this a single act of violence or is there a serial killer on the loose?
