Former heroin addict still hangs out with some user friends.
These user friends are either malicious or negligent.
Convince former heroin addict to come party after they leave the bar.
Former heroin addict is a little drunk, succumbs to pressure to do some heroin.
Can't remember how much she used to do, she went to rehab so obviously a heavy user, kind of ballparks how much she used to do when she was at the peak of her habit and tolerance, but now that has disappeared.
Hammers a lethal dose of heroin.
Dies.
User friend who talked her into it panics, takes her phone, texts his/her own number "I don't know who I'm with, I feel like I'm in trouble, if I call please answer."
User friend frantically drives her dead body to an abandoned house he/she knows, digs a shallow crappy grave for the sake of not wanting to hang around very long, buries his/her friend.
Goes home.
Cops knock on door to ask user friend some questions: "I don't know officer I saw her leave with some black men... and here look at my phone she sent me this text message that she felt she was in danger... is she okay?"

This is about how me and my wife figure it.
Can the cops get the tower locations from text sent to text received? Then we'll all know.

Yes.
There's more to the story and I don't want to dox myself but it's really simple
Left with two guys willingly
Overdosed
Two guys buried her body
It isn't a crazy Lifetime story. Just the sort of thing that unfortunately happens to addicts all the time.

Yep, old friend of mine was found in the ditch on Bawell in BR. Cops said someone likely had just rolled him out of a car and kept driving.

We obviously don’t know what the cause of death was in her case but it appears drugs were involved at some level.
Addiction is something we, as a nation, need to address immediately. It is, IMO, the greatest threat to our society. We need an overhaul at every level of our government, when it comes to addiction and drugs. The war on drugs isn’t working. We are leaving millions behind in our quest for maximized profit margins. Our education system is an embarrassment. Private prisons are winning over treatment. This is a recipe for massive drug and alcohol abuse.
I agree Rock, it is no laughing matter and we must address, ASAP.

It starts with requiring health insurers to cover 90 days of inpatient treatment. People who want and are trying to get help are getting cut in 7, 14 or 21 days. I’ve seen people who are paying extra premiums to have upgraded coverage for behavioral health/substance abuse still being denied coverage.
Another step in the right direction would be economic stimulation for a larger number of strong facilities. There are far too few rehabs actually running quality programs. Most places are just detoxing patients and putting them back out on the streets with no clue how to stay sober/clean. We need to shut down those clown programs and foster the growth of reliable facilities.
