Does cedarwood still play basketball in an outside gym? That was BS.
Christ Episcopal always seemed like the best school to me.

Cedarwood had a swimming pool though.

Hey guys, all this hate, come on now lol.
Now its warranted, we always hated SPS and SSA when I was going through HS, so that's what that was for. But I have heard from multiple people that the catholic school system on the NS is a good ways behind the public schools. So I won't retract that statement, but lagging behind St. Tammany is nothing to snuff at.

I took honors classes at SSA (with the exception of math). I had a buddy who graduated with decent grades, and went to Millsaps for college. He called me within the first 2 weeks of college telling me he had never heard of MLA format for writing papers, something I learned in 8th grade English at SSA. Just sayin.

Just curious, how were the catholic schools a "good ways behind" the public schools?
Are you referring to standardized test averages, graduation rates, courses offered, AP testing, teaching quality, etc.?

Christ Episcopal. Nurturing environment. Academically challenging.

I took all honors and AP classes at SSA. We had AP Calc AB + BC when BC wasn't being offered in a lot of places.

We had Calc BC at my school too.

Just heard from multiple parents around town(Madisonville), that kids were going into college ill prepared.
Several kids I knew of that separated when we left Madisonville Jr High for different HS, SPS and Mandeville. All the ones that I personally knew of including one that was in gifted with me growing up, literally could not hold a 1.0 his first year. He later finished at SLU along with several others. That's my personal experience, but everyone I here from says there sending there kids through the public school system, because they weren't impressed with the product the private schools are putting out.
ETA: If you haven't heard of MLA by the time you get to college, then someone missed some school days. Even that's hard to do, because we were drilled on MLA everyday in English class.
But I will say I guess my hate was very unwarranted, I just posted my opinion which was a little rash, but it was from what I've been told and from what I've witnessed. So I can't say don't send your kids to private, there still good schools, you really can't go wrong anywhere in St. Tammany.

Its not really the schools fault, its the kids work ethic . I knew kids from BRMHS that couldn't hack it at LSU, while there were other brh kids that got 4.0s at Rice.

I took English 5H with Mr C & Civics H with Harty. I wasn't foolish enough to think I'd survive AP English with Schaff, and I still count on my fingers so I had no complaints about being in the common folk math classes. When I took Arbo's Bio 2 it was considered honors, but I know since I graduated they have made it an AP class. For Christ sake I took a dead cat, decomposed its organs & muscle in bleach, and I and rebuilt the bone structure and had to journal about it. Yet we're apparently "behind" the local public schools.
