Browns on Johnston has some okay stuff.
The lay z boy store on ambassador is a nice place to check out.
So is royal standard but they don't have a huge selection.
The Paul Michael company in river ranch is also pretty nice.
Check out revival antiques on Facebook first. They have a very unique style. We just enjoy walking around there because some pieces are really amazing. They have a sale this weekend.

I found the one in Opelousas to be decent, though its been a few years and maybe I have hot garbage taste
.
The furniture we got from there was very good quality (dining room table). Living room furniture was not from there. We got it directly from Lazyboy.
Bedroom sets from Home Furniture in Lafayette for the kids rooms. I liked those for quality for the price.
Our bedroom set is a bit older. If the company we got that from was still in business, they would be my first recommendation, Anderson's Wholesale Furniture. But, alas, as often happens with family businesses, the younger generation did not want to give up the lives they had established to deal with all the hassle running that type of business entailed.
Good luck finding what you're looking for.
