If your parents have good credit and have a card they pay off every month, preferably an older credit line with a high limit, then ask if they will put you on as an authorized user.

Then after a few months of that reporting you can apply for a legit card that offers some benefit more than just building credit.

Whatever you do just pay the card off every month, if you can't do that then don't get a credit card.

Get a card through your bank, carry a small balance, make all of your payments on time, and you will build your credit score. At that point, you can worry more about the best APR offer, rewards points, etc...
