I just looked at the Mongol's wiki and they've been infiltrated by undercovers twice. I don't understand how these organized crime groups let this happen. How do you make/patch someone without serious vetting? I know gangsters aren't the brightest, but Jesus I can't imagine it's that hard to keep UCs away.

All it takes is forcthe cops or Feds to get leverage over the right guy in the club. Could be something as simple like busting him (or better yet close family member) with a bag of weed or something. If they're willing to play ball, the cops can "help them out". That's how it gets started. Once the cops/Feds have leverage on someone, they can get them to do a whole lot of things.
