I have lived and guided on Lake Lanier for almost 25 years now. For the first 15 years, I never saw not even 1. Never. About 10 years ago, one just showed up out of nowhere. Over the last 10 years, they have started to populate, now I see one almost every day I am out fishing. As the years have gone by, they have gotten less and less skittish. I had one sitting on a small blowdown on a island a few weeks back and I didnt even see him until we were less than 50 feet away from him
Amazing how big and bad arse they are

My wife and i were taking a train from Seattle to Vancouver CAN. Sitting back...enjoying the view when a bald eagle swoops down snags a fish..hovers for ca second and takes off with the fish in the direction back over the v train. It was impressive how quickly it happened. I had my camera (actual just a camera camera) in my lap and did a hope and shoot....i got part of v the v struggle in the frame

Beautiful animals. At one time there was one hanging out near the Louis Armstrong Airport in Kenner and I'd see it often when heading between the interstate and airport on the access road.
I'd often see another one off the Bonne Carre Spillway heading east if looking toward the direction of Airline Hwy.
It had built a huge nest in the top of one of the trees about a 300 yards or so off the roadway.
I saw the same one
