There's an override switch you can by for $30 or so that you can wire in and it defaults to 'start/stop off' if you have a ford.

My friend's company car does not have a button to turn the feature off. GMC Terrain
2019 Chevy Blazers don't either.
One was added for 2020. I assume after mountains of complaints.

This feature must really be good for battery life.
There is an extra inverter in the back that saves the main battery from wearing out quickly. It actually works pretty well.

From the factory with no modification? That’s interesting. I was under the impression that they couldn’t use it for EPA fuel economy if it had a permanent disable option. Do you know what the EPA fuel economy is on that vehicle? Maybe it already meets the standards and BMW sees it as an added “feature.”
Correct, from the factory bought this year. It’s an M2 so I’m not sure if it’s because of it being a sports model. One button press disables for the life of the vehicle.
It definitely doesn’t meet any fuel economy requirements LOL

On my vehicle, there is a button that can be pressed to disable it. I cut off a quarter inch by one inch piece of plastic credit card and jammed it into the small crack on the side of the depressed button to keep the button depressed. Now the button stays depressed all the time.
Jamming a dime in there will do it too.

Auto Start-Stop: Why?
It’s a feature that people who know nothing about their vehicle past how to fuel it up like. Seriously, it takes a complete lack of any mechanical knowledge to think it’s a good idea to shutoff the engine every time you come to a stop.
Thankfully in my 2021 1500 Bighorn the button to turn it off is right next to my gear knob so I always remember to turn it off.

Even if there isn't a button in the interior, there should be a fuse for the feature in the fuse box that you can pull.
Last week my wife’s 2018 Chevy Malibu’s auto-stop battery died. Her car didn’t have the button to turn it off. She took it to the dealership and they told her there’s no way to bypass it.
That was the last straw for her. She’d lived with the auto-off for over three years. And she’d perfected stopping without triggering it. But once the battery died, it was almost impossible to not trigger it. And now when it stopped, everything shutoff. So last Thursday she traded it for a 2022 Hyundai Calligraphy. It does have the button.
