re: Attics Or Basements? Which One Scares You More? Any Horror Stories For Either?

My grandparents had one of those old school, hand built, full size attics that you see in the horror movies with a creepy, pocket staircase leading up to it. I was always petrified of going up there as a child and honestly as an adult.
That said when I was in college I stayed in a finished basement for about a year. For about 6 months it was fine for the most part, but it got pitch dark at night and I slept like a baby. One night I was drifting off to sleep when I heard what sounded like my roommate’s old dog descending the carpeted stairs and padding across the carpeted room about 10-15 feet away. Even heard the smacking sound old dogs make. I was so certain it was the dog that I assumed it was going to walk over to me any second. At the time I was on a mattress at floor level with an curtain separating the bed area from the rest of the room…anyway the sound stops at that point and I wait for about 30-40 seconds, even called his name, then turn on the light and see… nothing. Instantly creeped me out and I just sat up frozen for about a minute. Then it hit me that the dog was way too old to even get down those stairs much less go back up without making a sound. So, after about a minute or so, I look around the rest of the room and see nothing. I go up to see that the dog is fast asleep in his bed.
Needless to say I spent the rest of the night on the sofa with the tv on. Eventually returned to the basement for the rest of that year, but I did inherit a pretty bad insomnia. I would listen to late night radio until I passed out.
So probably basements.

Lol I've seen grown men piss their pants...so age has NOTHING to do with being scared.
