We've had ours for several years, so I can't speak to the process now. The process then was, let's say, discombobulated. They put down the temporary line, which was destroyed by lawn guys and workers next door. Then they would come out to lay another temporary line, destroyed again before the real line was put in.
The official line was finally buried, and so far it has been vastly superior to anything else we've had. None of my issues had anything to do with AT&T except for the delay between the temporary and permanent lines.

I’ll be changing from Cox GigaBlast internet…I currently have a Motorola modem and a Google router and mesh system. Thanks in advance.
I had the same setup and gave them a shot but ended up bringing the modem back to the UPS store.
The techs will tell you to use IP pass through for the main connection and that you can set up your other subnets on thereafter. I found that I was still being limited on what I had to do for work. The techs will say anything to get you to plug up the modem.
Some people love it, but I found the service and support to be complete trash. If you aren’t going to get close to maxing out the speed then it might be fine. Cox let me do more of what I needed and ATT limited me more.
