At what age do you stop getting the “you’re still young” comments?

I was talking to someone about work stuff the other day and lamenting about a few things. He responded by saying, “you’re still so young. I didn’t figure some of that out until I was in my late 30s.”

I’m 33 and feel like people have made these comments to me since I was a kid. I feel like at 33, I should be well into the years of being established, experienced, and knowledgeable.

No matter the age you'll always hear this from people who are older. Especially from people who aren't very intelligent and didn't pick up on things until they were older than you are.

Once you stop learning from those with more experience or think you have arrived, you will continue to learn, but only the hard way.

I wouldn’t say I’m bitching about it.

...maybe I am.

I guess I’m taking it nowadays as a “bless your heart” kind of comment.

I'm 29 and had an 18 year old high school kid say "yes sir" to me at the LSU/Auburn game.

It was a terrible moment in my life.

I live in SW Fla, aka "God's waiting room", and hear it constantly. I'm 43.

As long as I live here, I will probably hear it until I'm 65 or so.

My coworkers in my department are all in their 50s. So they still tell me I'm still young.

Hey at 39, I'll take what I can get

I just turned 30 and the "you're still young" comments have drastically decreased.
