I pay at Walmart and Sam's with their app. The lady or gentleman at the Walmart store won't bother to check it.

Sam's app lets you scan it inside the store with your phone and you don't have to stand in line for checkout. Same thing for gas, you just point your phone app at the QR code.

Oh, what triggers the receipt inspection att Walmart is items not in a bag.

Some people are taking this way too seriously. Of course I show my receipt if asked. I’m an adult male from a nice family and I respect the people around me. We already have a full quota of snowflakes who won’t turn off their phones on airplanes and see “muh rights” in the most harmless social interactions.
Last, but not least, some poor soul has a shitty minimum wage job and you want to make his day worse just because you can. About as pointless a power trip as I can think of.
