Still pissed. That's why your arse will NOT be invited to the family BBQ this weekend.

The moms want to ask for donations for the team to have matching bag and helments that they will use for one fricking tournament.

This is what happens when you mix women and sports!

Getting down and dirty is more important to the kids than having matching man purses....

Sounds like a soccer league.

P.S. If all the items match, then how do the kids find their individual items quickly?

Wtf do you need money for? New jerseys? Parents buy them. Wear the same pants they had during the regular season. Thats retarded to ask people to buy them helmets and bags.

Disclaimer: I have been involved in both travel ball and all star fundraising...never participated any asking for donations. And fundraising was limited to family and friends.

I am out of both now.

All stars around here have been asking for donations to pay for the teams travel, rooms etc. Sounds acceptable...maybe. Until all the pictures are shared of relatively expensive meals that the donations paid for. And you start hearing about all the parents rooms being paid for and no players were in the room.

I also have always wondered where any "extra" funds go. Maybe the team gets put out early? Around here these funds are not handled through any rec or city funds...no accountability.

Tough call, I have no problem donating to our local teams...but it is difficult when you have no assurances of how the funds are spent.

I would just causally tell the ladies you got a new sponsor that would love to pay for the equipment they want. The only rule their name has to be on the bag and helmet. They also want the team to come over to the business for a Wednesday night party. Then see the women meltdown when you say xyz gentlemens club wants to be the sponsor.

I still love the original bad news bears and chicos bail bonds!
