Good morning OT.

I'm an architect that intends open his own gig in 3-7 years from now. I'm looking for any online programs that are good for providing business instruction to a guy that doesn't have the chops in that realm.

I want to have the structure of a proper grad program. Cost is a factor.

Has anyone at TD taken grad coursework online? Was it useful? Are there any good or bad programs?

Just use rainbows/popular emojis, and constantly call people brave. You will do fine.

University of Phoenix

Looked into this one but it’s more than I want to spend

Took an online course at BRCC years ago for general accounting
I’d look into local community adult continuing education courses

Entrepreneurship is going to give you a shite load of useless "agile management" and other buzzword material.

Learn how to understand financial statements and where your money is coming from and where your spending it

LinkedIn provides free business courses and certifications

Harvard does as well

I would also find a local chapter of small business owners association most of them provide free guidance and classes.

Look at your local Small Business Development Center. Lots of resources through the SBA.

"agile management"

Anything with "agile" in the name is thoroughly rotten.

25 years ago, "agile" was a grass roots movement created by computer programmers who were frustrated by bureaucracy. Since then, "agile" has been usurped by the worst sort of low-value blowhard. Use that word too much with me and I'll send your resume straight to the bottom of the ocean.

Figure out what exactly you are lookin for and there will be tons of quality materials online. No need to spend money on grad courses unless you need the degree for something.

Are you just looking for good accounting practices for a small firm? Are you trying to expand and hire people to become a medium size / regional player?

Figure that kind of stuff out first and then go from there.

I want creative control and the ability to work for nonprofit causes with the firm.

I don't want to deal with a large sized firm as I am not looking for a ton of money. This is about satisfying the soul more than anything.

The reality in life is that you have to know business or else you'll go fricking broke before your dreams come true.

I do appreciate the advice given so far. I sadly didn't think of the local SBA as a resource here.
