I have a black client tell me the exact same thing. He says instead of saving and investing for the future, most buy the worse possible "investment"....$100k vehicle. They can give 2 shits about the costs of maintenance and insurance that comes with a luxury vehicle.

A friend of mine is a mortgage broker and said most black people that apply have issues. Not being negative in any way but he thinks they don't understand what goes into determining your credit score. He said most of the time it boils down to a "Dillard's " type card or 90 days same as cash options for the things they buy on credit.
