So you're defending soldiers being spit on? Ok noted.

Not sure what the point is here?
My point was that soldiers serve regardless of whether they think they will ultimately win or lose. Often times they are conscripted and forced to serve. In Vietnam they were spit on for atrocities performed by others on their return home for simply wearing the same uniform as those who did the atrocities.
Now consider the average soldier who died during the civil war in the CSA. Was their death (often conscripted as well) any more or less worthy than that of the union soldier because of how some now view the CSA as a whole?
I guess your answer will say a lot about how you view honor and true service.

So you're ok with that? Did you think you're making a point there?

Link? How do you explain racists from the Union-controlled areas?

They migrated from the south

Slavery and racism have nothing to do with memorializing soldiers, especially CSA. There were racists and non-racists in both armies and slaveowners and non-slaveowners in both armies. Disrespecting warriors with no context of their personal lives or actions on the basis of the flag they flew under is wrong. Every warrior deserves to be remembered and memorialized.

What about how the north treated them?

Ever been to NYC? Or Philly? Or Baltimore? Or DC?
I don't recall the Confederates ever being there. Maybe you have information showing otherwise?

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A World War II veteran from the Tri-State area who valiantly served his country despite suffering racism in the Army has died.
Brigade General George Jones died this week. He was 93 years old.
Jones enlisted in the Army in 1939 when he was 16 years old. He fought in WWII and the Korean War.
In May 2015, he spoke with Eyewitness News reporter Michelle Charlesworth about the way he and his comrades were treated.
He said he was spit on and treated poorly -- and commanders would just turn their heads

Don't recall this happening much in those areas

Democrats have been spitting on American soldiers of race, colors, and creeds. Happened in Vietnam too.
Point?

And in the same breath you try and tell me this happened because of the Confederacy.

Holy spin Batman.
What does that have anything to do with saying CSA soldiers don't deserve the respect that Union soldiers get?

They didn't exist prior to the civil war apparently.
Except that they kind of did...
NYC 13 July 1863
Someone should look up NYC draft riots

I can post a picture from the south that is far more recent.

I guess they forgot about the slaves that didn't get freed in the union until after the end civil war?
How much do you know about the differences between the 13th amendment and the emancipation proclamation?

I guess I'll just quote what I posted earlier a few posts up:

I can post a picture from the north that is far more recent too.
That's just from the 60s... There's lots more too

Right, racism is completely isolated to the south. You should just leave the thread before you embarrass yourself further.
