When Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgey summited Everest in 1953, it was entirely different thing than it is today. But make no mistake, it's still a phenomenal accomplishment.

I had to go back and see this. I was not disappointed. Guy is either a huge clown or troll. I'm leaning towards the latter. He's not subtle enough to be sincere.

Guy at work climbed Everest a few years back. Came back and said was amazing. Died the next year climbing another mountain.

Lots of misinformation on this thread. I just got back from the trek to Everest base camp. Was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Altitude is a killer. EBC is at 17,600' and it's hard on your body. Affects your breathing, sleep, digestion, appetite and general energy level. Actually going higher and climbing the mountain is on another level. Nothing in the U.S. compares. Not even in the same ballpark.
