I'm sipping on a little right now and digging it. Clean, light euphoric buzz. I don't want this on Food and Drink because I know I will get more interesting responses here from some of the stoner types.

Its just alcohol... any perceived psychoactive effects are just that, perceived.

It's pretty f*ckin good. 170 proof I believe and it tastes like Jaeger on steroids.

I don't know, something funky about that wormwood that got the real stuff banned here a long time ago

This stuff is made in the south of France but they say it uses southern Wormwood which is milder I guess. Makes it legal to sell in the US. I have always heard about Absinthe but never tried it. I figured the Fourth Holiday was as good a time as any to give it a try.

It's an imitation.

You want real absinthe, try a legit brand from jade liqueurs.

hell yeah! why not? I tried some real ouzo in Greece years ago, way before random drug testing in my work and they told us to be careful as it was an opiate derivative, still finding out bits and pieces of what happened that night every time the old criminals get together

Only Europe has the real kind. US has this stomped on version of wormwood.

It's still pretty nice. Different. More of a lucid buzz.

I'm not an expert on it but I've always been told that the stuff you get over in southern Europe is, we were told it over there by the people giving it to us, and recently there was a big article in our paper about the come back of absinthe bars in the US and the differences between what is legal here v. what's in the real thing, irony is when it was banned here, pot was legal everywhere

This stuff with a little kush would be money. That's my next experiment. If HempHead can get me some mushrooms, I will add that to the mix. I will be a genius if that happens.

the hell of it is I could bring that stuff in pretty easily, just never thought about it, now I don't know of any place that I go on a regular basis where it's sold, I'll have to start asking around

I might have to try this the next time I visit the Noble Experiment in San Diego. The atmosphere seems right for that type of drink.

I would give it a go. It certainly has a different effect than beer, wine or traditional spirits. Lighting and atmosphere seem to be the key in enjoying it. Is that in the Gaslight District of San Diego?

Yep, old prohibition era bar hidden in the back of another place. Dim lighting and skulls on the walls.
