Get in on speaking at business events and give stats in how fit employees are more productive and happier. Business people love statistics that suggest they'll make more money. O&G, accounting/finance, and software development companies are all interested in fitness.
Also - a lot of health insurance companies offer members discounts on gym memberships and fitness products/services. That's another good industry to network with.

Why is that?

A couple of reasons. I mainly felt that BNI became a weekly meeting on how to perpetuate BNI; it started to feel like a second job that I didn't get paid for. Granted, the group I joined wasn't that good, and folded not too long after I quit. But, my experience was bad enough that I wouldn't go back.
BNI may work for you, but I haven't seen people in the fitness industry really do well with it. Try it out, though, and judge for yourself. I have friends who swear by BNI, and are always asking me to join again.
